Join Eastway & Portelli in the Falklands - December 2024
King Penguins at Sunset, Falkland Islands. Photo by Scott Portelli.
The Falkland Islands are usually the first or the last stop on the South Georgia / Antarctica circuit. Stays are usually only two or three days at best, yet there is so much to see and photograph that I've always felt a little short changed, especially if you're an avid wildlife photographer.
With this in mind, Scott has invited me to lead a small group of five photographers on a two week exploration of the Falklands and its outer islands. Scott has lead tours to the Falklands many times before and knows the area like the back of his hand!
Writes Scott, the Falkland Islands located in the South Atlantic Ocean off South America are the perfect destination to experience the wonders of nature and wildlife; an unpolluted environment with fantastically clear blue skies, seamless horizons, vast open spaces and stunning white sand beaches. Wildlife is free to roam and many species have chosen the Islands as their home including gentoo and magellanic penguins, Southern sea lions, elephant seals, Commerson’s and Peale’s dolphins, and over 200 species of birds including the majestic albatrosses.
