Radiant Photo Worth The Money!
H&H, San Gimignano, 2002Pre-production Canon EOS-1Ds, 14mm lens, 1/800 second @ f2.8, ISO 800 These are my well-behaved daughters, photographed over 20 years ago, outside the walls of San Gimignano in Italia. I was using a pre-production Canon EOS-1Ds and thought that the folder name on the rear of the screen was the ISO. However, the folder was named '100' and I spent most of the family's two month sojourn shooting at ISO 800. I do remember thinking how much faster digital cameras were than...

Another 'Bad Weather' Day of Wonder
The Tree [Not Tony's], Middlehurst StationPhase One XF IQ150, Schneider Kreuznach LS 110mm f/2.8, 1/8 second @ f11, ISO 50, tripod mounted When it snows heavily in Middlehurst, access around the station becomes limited. The roads are too soft for the 4WDs, the rivers flood and can't be driven on or crossed, and with low cloud you can't fly a helicopter or land a plane. However, legs remain operational and within a short walk of the Quarters there are many locations to photograph - such as this...
Shark Bay Aerial Photo Experience 3 - 7 June 2025 - $10,995
Do You Want To Create Amazing Aerials?
It’s both capture & post-production!
Two AIPP Grand Masters, just eight students.
Only $10,995. Don’t miss out - book now!
True Story. When Tony Hewitt and I were organising a Shark Bay aerial photography workshop a couple of years ago, the pilots let slip that when some of the other photography groups visited, the leaders would ask to be taken to ‘where Tony Hewitt goes’!
There’s no doubt Tony started something over 10 years ago when, along with the other ND5 Photographers - Michael Fletcher, Christian Fletcher, Les Walkling and me (Peter Eastway), they produced the Shark Bay Inscription exhibition. In fact, the Shark Bay council purchased part of the exhibition and it’s still on display at different times throughout the year at the Denham Visitor Centre.
There are two main reasons for choosing us as your aerial photography instructors at Shark Bay – and the first is the experience we offer in getting you to the best locations for your aerial photography adventure. How hard can it be? You’d be surprised at how many people fly over areas without even seeing the images we’ve captured, plus with over 20 visits to Shark Bay, Tony knows exactly where to go based on the weather and the tides.
The second reason for coming with us is that there are very few photographers in the world who can match the post-production skills we teach. The photographs you see in this brochure didn’t just come out of the camera. Rather, the camera is just the beginning of a series of steps that includes extensive (but quite simple) postproduction – and this is the key element of what we teach at Shark Bay.
In summary, this workshop is designed to show you exactly what we do, how we locate our subjects, take the photos and process the final images. There are no secrets – we share everything we know!
If you’re interested, please read on! But don’t delay - places book up quickly.
