Photo Feedback is a series of movies that I hope will encourage a little discussion on the website about the art of photography and how images can be improved. Whether you call it critiquing, analysis or feedback, you need to think about the image and describe what works and what doesn't.
Take a look at the before and after versions of this image - has it been improved? These are both by the photographer and it's a great effort, but how do you separate the tree from the sky and foreground - if this is what you want to do? I don't have an answer - although a lot of time with a channel mask in Photoshop could help. Sometimes the original camera angle or choice of weather (i.e. the sky) is the only solution. Do you agree?
View the movie below for a short discussion about the image and then, if you have something to say, write a comment here. (Note, you need to be registered on the site and signed in before the system will let you post a comment. This hopefully stops too much spam!)
